David F. Smail, MD, FACS

David F. Smail, MD, FACS

Dr. David Smail attended medical school at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency training at Brown University. He then served in the U.S Navy until 2005.

He is board certified by the American College of Surgeons. His interests include breast surgery, gallbladder disease, gastrointestinal surgery, hernia surgery, melanoma, minimally invasive surgery and colonoscopy. He has been the Medical Director of the Beverly Hospital Trauma service since 2007.

He enjoys coaching hockey, fishing, hiking, travel, and spending time with his family and two dogs.
